Introduction

Talkraft is a voice-first productivity app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. This policy describes what data the Talkraft app and this website process, the legal basis for that processing, and your rights. It is written to be readable — if anything is unclear, contact us (see Contact us).

The core fact: your audio, transcripts, and the notes Talkraft generates from them are processed on your device and are never sent to us. We have no server that can receive or read them.

Who we are

Talkraft is provided by Filtercode LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 10554106), with its registered office at 3rd Floor 86-90 Paul Street, London, England, EC2A 4NE. Filtercode LTD is the data controller for the limited processing described in this policy.

Information we collect

Talkraft is designed to collect as little as possible. Information falls into these categories:

Data processed on your device

• Your audio recordings.
• Transcripts produced from those recordings.
• AI-generated structure: summaries, action items, key decisions, topic tags, and recognised entities (people, projects, topics).

This data is created and stored on your device. It never leaves your device unless you choose to sync it via iCloud or export it (see below).

Data in your iCloud (optional)

If you enable iCloud sync, your notes are stored in your private iCloud (CloudKit) container so they appear across your devices. This data is held under your Apple ID and is not accessible to Filtercode LTD. Audio is never synced automatically — it is opt-in per recording.

Anonymous analytics

The app records anonymous, aggregate usage events (see App analytics); this website uses cookieless, privacy-preserving analytics. Neither captures your recordings, transcripts, or AI output.

Diagnostics

If your device is set to share crash and diagnostic data with app developers (an opt-in Apple setting), we receive anonymised crash reports through Apple. They help us fix bugs and never contain your recordings, transcripts, or notes.

On-device processing & no server

All transcription and all AI analysis run on your device using Apple's on-device frameworks (SpeechAnalyzer for transcription and Foundation Models for structuring). No audio, transcript, or derived content is sent to any server for processing.

Filtercode LTD operates no backend server that receives or stores your recordings. We cannot access your content because we have no infrastructure to receive it. Talkraft works fully offline.

Lawful basis for processing (UK GDPR)

Where Filtercode LTD processes personal data, we rely on the following lawful bases under Article 6(1) of the UK GDPR:

• Performance of a contract — providing the core app functionality you have asked for.
• Legitimate interests — anonymous, aggregate analytics to understand usage and improve the product, balanced against your rights.
• Consent — optional features you switch on, such as iCloud sync and third-party export integrations. You can withdraw consent at any time by turning the feature off.

App analytics

The Talkraft app uses Firebase Analytics to record anonymous app events (for example, "recording started"). This tells us how features are used in aggregate.

Analytics never include your transcript text, audio, or AI output — that content is never logged anywhere. This website uses cookieless analytics that set no cookies and identify no individual.

Analytics are configured without advertising identifiers: Talkraft uses the analytics-only variant of the SDK, collects no advertising ID, and ships no advertising or tracking SDKs.

Purchases

Subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit. Your payment details are handled by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy; no third-party payment provider receives your data, and we do not see your payment information.

Apple associates purchases with your Apple ID, which is why purchase history appears under "Data Linked to You" on the App Store privacy label. What Filtercode LTD receives is limited to anonymised subscription status — for example, whether Pro is active.

Optional export integrations

You can export individual recordings. These are always initiated by you:

• Obsidian — writes a Markdown file directly to a folder you choose, with no network request.
• Notion — sends the content you choose to your Notion database under Notion's Privacy Policy, only after you give explicit, per-export consent. Audio is never sent.
• Reminders & the system Share Sheet — hand the content to the operating system feature you pick.

If you connect Notion, the access token is stored only in your device's Keychain and you can disconnect at any time from within the app.

Device permissions

Talkraft asks for the minimum permissions it needs, and optional integrations stay off until you enable them:

• Microphone — required to record audio.
• Siri & Shortcuts — optional, to start recordings hands-free.
• Spotlight — optional, to find your notes in system search (content stays on-device even when indexed).

Your data on the App Store privacy label

Talkraft's App Store privacy "nutrition label" reflects how the app actually behaves. Your recordings, transcripts, and AI output are not collected — they are processed on your device and never transmitted to Filtercode LTD. The label declares only:

• Data Not Linked to You — anonymous usage data (aggregate app events) and diagnostics (crash reports). Neither can be tied to your identity.
• Data Linked to You — purchase history. Apple requires subscriptions to be associated with your Apple ID; we receive only anonymised subscription status, never your payment details.
• Data Used to Track You — none. Talkraft contains no advertising or tracking SDKs and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Optional iCloud sync stores data in your own private iCloud, not with us.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Rectification of inaccurate data.
• Erasure of your data ("right to be forgotten").
• Restriction of processing.
• Data portability.
• Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
• Withdraw consent at any time for features you have opted into.

Because your content lives on your device (and optionally your iCloud), you exercise most of these rights directly — see How to delete your data. For anything else, contact support@talkraft.app.

Data retention

• On-device data is kept until you delete it or remove the app.
• Free-tier transcripts — on the Free plan, transcripts older than 30 days are archived: hidden from your library but not deleted. Your audio is kept, and archived transcripts are restored in full if you upgrade to Pro.
• iCloud data is kept until you remove it via your Apple ID settings.
• Anonymous analytics are retained in aggregate per the analytics provider's standard retention and cannot be tied to you.

International data transfers

Your app content does not leave your device or your iCloud region. Anonymous analytics may be processed outside the UK by our analytics providers under appropriate safeguards (such as the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses). No personal content is transferred.

Automated decision-making

Talkraft does not carry out automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects (UK GDPR Article 22). The AI features are user-initiated tools that help you organise your own recordings.

Third-party services

Talkraft relies on these third parties, each governed by its own privacy policy:

• Apple — iCloud/CloudKit (optional sync) and the App Store/StoreKit (purchases). See Apple's Privacy Policy.
• Google — Firebase for anonymous app analytics. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Cloudflare — hosting and cookieless analytics for this website.
• Notion — only if you choose to export to it. See Notion's Privacy Policy.

How to delete your data

• Local data — delete the app from your device, or clear data from within the app.
• iCloud data — remove it via Settings → your Apple ID → iCloud on your device.
• Export integrations — disconnect Notion (or revoke access) from within the app.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version, and material changes will be noted in the app's update notes.
